RESCUE

We can only take a very limited number of animals, since we are an organization that works uniquely with a network of foster families.

For Veterinary Clinics: Fill out the form and choose ‘’Abandoned Animal in Veterinary Clinic’’ in the section ‘’Infos on the Animal’’.

IMPORTANT:

The Aristopaws specialize in medical care for distressed animals. We can only take charge of cases that require medical attention that need specific care. If your animal is healthy or is abandoned for reasons like moving out, the lack of time or allergies, unfortunately, we will not be able to intervene.

We encourage you to explore other options, like requesting your entourage, your family or your friends, before confiding your animal to an organization. An environmental change can be upsetting and stressing for our four legged friends, and it can lead to medical and behavioral regressions, complicating their adoption.

Euthanasia should only be intended for animals that present a grim prognosis, despite veterinarian care or a poor quality of life.  For the animals that are in relatively good health or under the care of a veterinarian, abandoning to a recognized organization is the best option to offer a well deserved second chance for your companion.

We understand how frustrating it can be to receive negative answers from shelters and organisms because they are at full capacity. It’s the reason why we created this page to increase your chances of success of the applications, and to save as many animals as possible. You can check our availability and find out some animal cases that we take charge of, as well as some cases that we can’t accept unfortunately.

Rescue: Limited places but partnership with other Canadian organizations

When our rescues display as complete and that our places are occupied, our commitment towards life and death of animals in distress persist. Thanks to our collaboration with various Canadian organizations, we are able to direct you to safe alternatives. Don’t hesitate to contact us even if our rescues are complete, we will give you vital references.

OUR RESCUES ARE CURRENTLY: OPEN

Requirements for the care by the Aristopaws

Our cases insights

In Aristopaws, we are devoted to the care of the animals with health problems that need medical care. Our mission excludes the reception of abandoned animals for reasons like moving out, lack of time or allergies.

Here’s an insight of some cases that we take care of:

  • Animals presenting foreign bodies
  • Animals harmed with wounds
  • Animals suffering of pyometra (uterine infection)
  • Animals with malformations or requiring amputations
  • Animals affected with parvovirus
  • Animals suffering with head trauma
  • Animals with dystocia (difficulty with labour)
  • Animals afflicted with infections
  • Puppies and kittens less than 12 weeks, requiring cares
  • Animals victim of intoxications
  • Animals suffering from fractures, etc.

Criterias

    • The animal must be seen by a veterinarian:

So we could figure out the care for your animal, they must be seen by a veterinarian, even for a basic examination, and that its medical record is provided with the rescue application form. This will help us to determine if we will be able to give the appropriate care to the animal and to discuss the options with our veterinarians.

    • The animal must have a good prognosis in the long term if they receive the necessary care. Please note that we are against therapeutic obstinacy.
    • Once your animal is confided to our organization, an abandoned contract must be signed. Once recovered, the animal will be placed for adoption and it will be IMPOSSIBLE to take them back or adopt them again.
    • The animal will be placed for adoption once they are back on their paws. It will be impossible to receive any news from them.
    • Depending on our budget and places available, we reserved the right to transfer the animal into another trusting organization or to work in a team with one of them to ensure the best their wellbeing and their adaptation into their new life/
